A new paper by Drs Christopher Jones and Paul Gilbert is published in the Journal of Cleaner Production.
This paper is the first assessment of the wider carbon impacts of widespread rooftop solar PV uptake, taking into account electricity network impacts. The study finds that such impact have a low (<6%) impact on the life cycle carbon emissions for PV electricity, even with 100% uptake, if networks are managed.
