Tyndall researcher co-authors nature climate change comment on irreversible climate action

Harry Barton, a PhD researcher at the Tyndall Centre, co-authored a cross-university comment piece on the irreversibility of climate action and the safeguards reinforcing progress, published in Nature Climate Change, a leading high-impact climate science journal.

Led by Professor Corinne Le Quéré, researchers from University of East Anglia, University of Oxford, University of Manchester, and the Climate Change Committee have recently authored a comment piece concerning irreversibility in climate action.

This piece stems from one of the key sessions of the Our Critical Decade Climate Conference in September 2025. It highlights multiple safeguards that are inplace to prevent backsliding on environmental progress so far, and positive feedbacks reinforcing progress despite opposing factors.
