Dr Alejandro Gallego Schmid delivers keynote on Life Cycle Assessment education at Imperial College London

Dr Alejandro Gallego Schmid was invited to deliver a keynote presentation at the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Network Symposium hosted by Imperial College London.
The presentation showcased The University of Manchester's experience in embedding life cycle assessment within engineering and sustainability education, highlighting approaches that combine theoretical teaching with practical application through software-based coursework, case studies, debates and project-based learning. Dr Gallego Schmid also introduced a new practical guide developed at The University of Manchester to support undergraduate and Master's students in applying LCA to research projects and dissertations. The keynote provided an opportunity to exchange experiences with academics from across the UK and discuss how higher education can equip future engineers and sustainability professionals with the skills needed to address complex environmental challenges. The keynote promoted The University of Manchester's leadership in Life Cycle Assessment education and strengthened collaboration within the UK LCA academic community.
