Accelerating Just Climate Action Conference – 12 December | 08:30 – 17:30.
To save a few airmiles and prevent feelings of flightshame related to COP28 being hosted in UAE this year, Sustainable Futures with support from Tyndall Manchester, Henry Royce Institute and Creative Manchester is hosting an all-day event showcasing the work of Early Career Researchers that intersect with topics that will be inevitably discussed during the intergovernmental negotiations.
The four sessions start with the Global South followed by Local Transitions to Net Zero. Following a networking lunch, sessions will restart with the Circular Economy and finally External Collaboration. A drinks reception will wrap up the day.
The aim is to foster debate, collaboration and interdisciplinary thinking to help develop new, or grow existing relationships across the University’s diverse group of Early Career Researchers studying the many facets of sustainability. This is all in the spirit of helping to accelerate climate action. Three speakers per session will present their research followed by a Q and A panel.
